chingay 2007-parade of dreams23,24th feb
chingay 2007 was a beautiful parade of colours..the spectacular costumes and floats were a feast for the eyes..that was what kept me glued for the past two days..watching the performers from various countries with their exotic and culture dances and their elaborate costumes..the fireworks were also a pleasant surprise..it was the proximity and being part of the event that gave me the adrenaline rush..=)

i'm back from yangon! haha..i'm like travelling around southeast asia..i've realized that southeast asia is also a pretty nice place to get to know..in fact, we don't really know much about our neighbouring countries until we go and really feel the place, its heritage and whatnots. anyhows..this time round it was not as fun as hanoi..but more of an eye opener..myanmar has strong remnants of the communistic past and it still hasn't developed itself as well as hanoi did..but i'm sure in time to come..it will be like hanoi..for now..just a few pix here and there!
i forgot the name of this place..but i reckon its the municipal building..built during colonial occupation by the british..
i tell u..i have never seen so many people squeeze onto a small van,tut-tut..some of them have rice sacks over their heads while balancing on the little piece of metal or plank while travelling at 70km/h..scary i tell u..
my wonderful mum & i on a truck!! a large truck..we took a ride up the steep and winding mountain..and tt driver was speeding..it was exhilarating..with the wind brushing against my hair..haha..but it was thrilling..cuz the roads were super narrow..no safety belts, no cover..its like a one way track..there are actually timings for the trucks to go up and down..cuz there's only room for less than 1 truck! haha..i reckon if i dun sit still and hold the railing..i might just fly out of the truck and into the wilderness of the mountains..s.c.a.r.y.
this is wad we went up for..this golden rock mountain..this rock is positioned on top of a mountain at an angle that is ridiculous..it seems to be able to fall off anytime..but it has maintained its balance for like hundreds of years..so the people of myanmar believed that it is spiritual and they usually go up to offer prayers and get blessings..
oh..did i also tell u that its gold plated? dun ask me how also..haha..
this is me..standing outside my hotel room and the golden rock mountain hotel..the weather was cooling..it was like genting..love the cooling feeling..whoosh..!

happy valentine's dayit's that time of the year..where love is all around..
makes me wanna sing the tune love is all around by wet wet wet..
haha..actually..i'm already humming it as i write this entry..
valentine's day..
is a wonderful day for couples to remind themselves of the sweet love that they share.
but it is also a day for singles to ponder about where are their ms and mr right.
it is also a day to celebrate love..of all forms..friendship & kinship alike.
its a day of mixed emotions i must say..haha..you see...
today, i walked to south spine from my hall..and that's like quite a distance..from north to south spine..and as i walked past..i saw many couples holding hands..haha..is it bcuz it's vday that's why they feel that they are more willing to display their affection for one another?-i say this bcuz i have never seen so many couples holding hands in ntu before.haha..anyhows..it was a sweet sight..i felt the love =)
canteen A's porch area was filled i mean FILLED with heart shaped balloons..the giving away of balloons..the spread and sharing of love all around..makes me feel the love too..
to me..i feel that everyday's a valentine's day..
small subtle actions and words make love show in a big way..
sweet smses once in a while to let him/her know that he/she is being missed
have you ever seen a slight smile on a girl's face when she reads an sms? you can tell its from her loved one..its in the smile =)
i have seen that a couple of times..
love..
something that has been experienced since time immemorial..it starts generations, causes the fall of dynasties, the rise of great civilisations..it is so powerful..
yet..it can be experienced by the simplest things..
love..made simple..it should be..
love always seemed intangible to many..but really..

there were 2 presentations today..comm management fundamentals and marketing on MarkPlus&Co. since shirley alexander wanted us to wear formal for our comm mgt presentation, our whole class looked super formal for marketing as well and mr boey was quite stunned..haha..it feels very different when giving presentation in our normal daily attire as compared to formal wear..makes us feel very matured and speech seems to be more sophisticated than normal..-now that's the power of attire..wow.anyhows..we took some pix but all of us were busy with the presentation and stuff so the pix were scarce..like really few..but i still managed to find a decent and nice one =)

happy 20th birthday Krystle!
happy birthday my dearest tutorial mate!
great and fun day today.
went to krystle's place to celebrate her birthday.
a wonderful soul like her brings much joy to our tutorial class-for all the times she handles our class fund-for birthdays etc etc. her quirky and undying efforts in matchmaking for all the singles in our tutorial group-currently our dear lp is top on her list..to lp: the 1.8mil guy seems a good catch! haha! her fantabulous presentation skills that our ob tutor has never seen in her 25 yrs of teaching.-dearest..seriously..we're in awe and impressed with you. =)
and a great friend!.

happy 22nd birthday to eric & songyi
haha..these two blokes are damn blur..you see..their bday is actually on jan 5th and jan 16th..but due to all our grp's timetable clashes and stuff..we finally managed to meet up today..like majority..so we kinda planned a belated birthday surprise..so we collaborated with the pizza hut peeps..so when we gave the cue, they turned off the lights and sang the happy birthday song and came out withe the cake..the FUNNY thing was..songyi&eric was wondering who's birthday cuz they had the super BLUR look on their faces..haha..we had to let them know that we're celebrating a belated one for them..haha..funnnyy..anyhows..pizza was great..you see..i had a craving for pizza recently and since pizza hut was so near, i suggested celebrating there.hahah..as greedy as usual..oh well.

seriously, they look like they are cutting their wedding cake..damn GAY..and don't u think they look really happy?! blissful love? hahahahhaa
